Building the perfect BLT

Sometimes I get a real craving for a BLT.  Today, was one of those days.

I prefer my bread toasted.

Then just the right about of Mayo.  The real stuff.  Not light.  Give me the artery clogging stuff.

Four strips of bacon, no more, no less.

Some sliced tomato.  Salt and pepper, please.

Then top with lettuce, and cut in half, or corner to corner.  However you prefer.  Serve with a nice crunchy Kosher Dill and I’m a happy woman.

Oh, and a nice, tall glass of sweet tea.  None of that unsweetened tea for this gal.

The tenacity of a bull dog…

That’s what my dear husband told me I had one time.  When I get an idea in my head, or I’m searching for something on the web, or creating something with my hand, I will keep at it until the idea comes to live, I find what I’m searching for, or the creation is perfect.

Thanks, honey.  I’ll take that as a compliment.

Some may say it’s because I’m a Virgo.  That’s probably part of it too.  I had a boss tell me the same thing one time when I was doing some research for her.  She said it was the reason she wanted me to assist her.

In the last few days, it’s been working on layout sketches, and card sketches, and making cards.  And, with two small children around, the only time to do it is at night.  And I get so involved in it, that I can’t stop.  I work till the point of exhaustion.

Which is probably why I’ve been fighting a headache all evening….hmmm…something to think about there.

I think I mentioned in a previous post that Big Man is working in Tulsa this week.  His truck was in the shop from Monday afternoon till last night.  They had to replace the water pump, and get the a/c working.  When I spoke with him this morning, he said it was so cold in his truck now that when he gets out, his glasses fog up.  This evening, when we talked, he said he was laying in the sleeper watching a movie and was about to grab the heavy blanket.  I asked him if he’d rather be hot or cold.  He said he prefers the cold.  So I told him to stop complaining.  This man is from Michigan and could sleep with the windows open in 30 degree weather.  I, on the other hand, am naturally cold natured, and prefer to be warm.

Well, except in this insane heat!  I’m ready for fall…if not winter.

And now, I think I’ll go have some dark chocolate and peanut butter.

The search is on…

We are looking for a new place.  With two little ones, and all the toys, clothes, etc that comes with having little ones, we’ve outgrown this little 2 bedroom home.  We moved in here when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with Aidan, that was August of 2005.  It was ok for us and him.  But when Rori came along, it started getting full.

So….we’re looking.  Yuck.  I HATE to think about packing, again.  I knew someday we’d be moving, just didn’t think it would be THIS someday.

On another note…I’ve revamped my website.  Pretty much gave up on the signs and letters, they just weren’t going anywhere.  Now, I’m doing custom scrapbook design services.  And I’m working on adding cards to my site too.

Big Man’s working in Tulsa again this week.  Seems like he just got back from there, although it’s been two weeks.

And the heat has set in.  It was so bad out today, I didn’t venture out of the house unless I had to.
